El programa que interpretará el Cuarteto Iberia en este concierto incluye el cuarteto op. 74 No. 1 de Joseph Haydn, considerado como el padre del cuarteto de cuerda. Es una obra muy represen-tativa del clasicismo, con el característico sentido del humor del compositor austriaco. Predominan la luminosidad y un sentimiento alegre durante toda la obra.
Seguidamente, la agrupación interpretará el cuarteto op. 59 No. 1 de L. v. Beethoven, obra que dedicó al conde Razumovsky. Se trata de un cuarteto que rompió con la tradición clásica de sus predecesores, aportando numerosas innovaciones tanto en el aspecto formal como técnico. Sin duda, una de las obras cumbres de la música de cámara.
The programme to be performed by the Cuarteto Iberia includes the quartet op. 74 No. 1 by Jo-seph Haydn, considered to be the father of the string quartet. It is a very representative work of classicism, with the Austrian composer’s characteristic sense of humour. Luminosity and a joyful feeling predominate throughout the work.
Following this, the ensemble will perform the quartet op. 59 No. 1 by L. v. Beethoven, a work he dedicated to Count Razumovsky. It is a quartet that broke with the classical tradition of its pre-decessors, bringing numerous innovations in both formal and technical aspects. It is undoubtedly one of the masterpieces of chamber music.
