El presidente de la Diputación de Granada, Francisco Rodríguez, ha visitado el nuevo sistema de filtración de agua potable. Esta innovación abastecerá hasta 900,000 litros de agua potable al día y evitará cortes en el suministro.
The president of the Diputación de Granada, Francisco Rodríguez, has visited the new drinking water filtration system. This innovation will supply up to 900,000 litres of drinking water per day and will prevent supply cuts.
El presidente de la Diputación de Granada, Francis Rodríguez, ha visitado esta mañana el municipio de Nigüelas para conocer de primera mano las inversiones realizadas desde la institución provincial que van a garantizar el suministro de agua potable a los vecinos de esta localidad de la comarca del Valle.
Rodríguez ha señalado la importancia del papel de la institución trabajando mano a mano con los alcaldes de toda la provincia para dar respuesta a necesidades tan básicas como tener garantizado el suministro de agua dotando al municipio de una infraestructura de uso público de calidad y acorde a las carencias que sufría.
En concreto, la Diputación ha financiado la puesta en marcha de unos filtros en una nueva captación de agua en el río Torrente y su conducción hasta el naci-miento, así como un sistema adicional en los depósitos del municipio garantizan-do así el abastecimiento y el control de presión con la instalación de válvulas.
La inversión realizada ha sido de 56.876´05 euros de los que la institución provincial ha aportado 40 mil euros. “Estamos ante una pequeña inversión que resuelve un gran problema”, ha dicho Rodríguez que ha agradecido al gobierno local la lealtad y el trabajo conjunto realizado entre ambas administraciones dando una solución eficaz y eficiente a un problema que debía ser atajado lo antes posible y que, además, evita las continuas averías que se producían como consecuencia de la entrada de aire en las canalizaciones por los cortes.
“Los vecinos ya no tienen que volver a sufrir los cortes de agua que cada noche se producían y que necesitaban de una actuación que se ha hecho con la mayor celeridad posible”. Rodríguez además ha reiterado el compromiso de la Diputación de Granada por apostar por las políticas de Agua en la provincia “como venimos haciendo desde el primer minuto de este gobierno con la creación de una delegación específica dedicada a ello”.
“Muy contentos porque cuando las instituciones colaboran, y buscamos objetivos comunes, quienes salen ganando son los vecinos. Vamos a seguir apostando por todos y cada uno de los pueblos. Que tengan nuevos atractivos, nuevas oportunidades que los llenen de vida, pero también tenemos que garantizar a los vecinos que cuentan con servicios tan básicos como tener agua potable en sus viviendas. Ahí está y va a estar la Diputación de Granada”.
Por su parte, la alcaldesa de Nigüelas, Olga Gómez, ha agradecido la celeridad en la respuesta de la Diputación de Granada que ha permitido poner fin a un problema vital para el día a día de sus vecinos. “Ha sido tocar a la puerta y de momento se han abierto todas y nos han tendido la mano para resolver este problema que veníamos arrastrando desde hace tiempo con la corporación anterior. Es muy importante, ya que el agua es un bien que hay que preservar y mirar por él”.

Rodríguez pointed out the importance of the role of the institution working hand in hand with the mayors of the whole province to respond to such basic needs as having a guaranteed water supply, providing the municipality with a quality infrastructure for public use and in accordance with its previous shortcomings.
Specifically, the Diputación has financed the installation of filters in a new water catchment in the river Torrente and its conduction to the source, as well as an additional system in the municipality’s reservoirs, thus guaranteeing the supply and pressure control with the installation of valves.
The investment made was 56,876.05 euros, of which the provincial institution contributed 40,000 euros. ‘This is a small investment that solves a big problem’, said Rodríguez, who thanked the local government for the loyalty and joint work carried out between the two administrations, providing an effective and efficient solution to a problem that needed to be tackled as soon as possible and which also avoids the continuous breakdowns that occurred as a result of air entering the pipes due to cuts.
‘The residents no longer have to suffer the water cuts that used to occur every night and which required action to be taken as quickly as possible’. Rodríguez also reiterated the commitment of the Diputación de Granada to support water policies in the province ‘as we have been doing since the first minute of this government with the creation of a specific delegation dedicated to it’.
‘We are very happy because when the institutions collaborate and we seek common objectives, the winners are the residents. We will continue to support each and every one of the villages. We want them to have new attractions, new opportunities that fill them with life, but we also have to guarantee the residents that they have basic services such as drinking water in their homes. That is where the Diputación de Granada is and always will be’.
For her part, the mayoress of Nigüelas, Olga Gómez, thanked the Diputación de Granada for its swift response, which has put an end to a vital problem for the day-to-day lives of her neighbours. ‘It has been a matter of knocking on the door and they have answered and have extended their hand to us to solve this problem that we had been dragging on for some time with the previous corporation. It is very important, as water is an asset that must be preserved and looked after’.
